Flip-screen - In computer and video games, the term flip-screen (sometimes also known as flick-screen) refers to games in which the playing environment is divided up into single screen portions (usually viewed from above, though sometimes from the side, or, more seldom, via an isometric view). Screen direction - "Screen direction" is a term used in motion picture editing and refers to an underlying concept of cinematic grammar which involves the direction that actors or objects appear to be moving on the screen from the point of view of the camera or audience. A rule of film editing is that movement from one edited shot to another must maintain the consistency of screen direction in order to avoid audience confusion.

Black screen of death - The black screen of death (BSoD), is either of two things: a failure mode of Microsoft Windows 3.x, or the screen displayed by the OS/2 operating system in the event of either a system error from which it cannot recover or a "hard" error in a program running in "full screen" mode (the former being a serious system failure but the latter being a less serious application failure).
